I read the whole thing in fifteen minutes - it's not that much longer than the free sample, which still peeves me - hence the three stars.Peevishness aside - it's well constructed, and I'm not going to call the few mechanical and editing issues because it's supposed to be a journal written by some ordinary guy with no recourse to spell check or editors.
The story moves along well and has a lot of the things you'd expect, as well as several unexpected twists.
Had the author made this book-length rather than 'not even novelette length', it would have been a much, much better product that I'd cheerfully pay for. As it is, I feel somewhat taken advantage of, even though it was only ninety-nine cents.
Well, caveat emptor, and I'll man up and get over it.

Diary of the One Percent eBook Culex Pipiens Reviews
An interesting story that I wished had lasted more than just a mere 44 pages. I'm hoping the author will flesh this out into a full-fledged book.
A pretty good quick read. Well written and it flows along without having to stop and reread to make sense of the story. The characters are given enough description while allowing the reader to fill in any blanks on their own and was well ended with the int of further story writing down the road.
What a delightful short story. Enjoyed the read. Interesting plot, characters, made me want to read his other books. 5stars most definitely.
Not a bad short story. It gives some basics on survival and gives a high level outline how a non-prepper could adapt to the world in chaos.
A good read. Again, way too short. Character development good, then could expand WHAT and WHY chooses were made during the journey. Food, water, shelter, weapons, etc., could have doubled the size but may have made a teaching experience. Would. Have taken research, though. Good job in all.
I have quickly become a fan of Culex Pipiens. All of his books are enjoyable, quick reads. You won't regret giving it a try.
Some good ideas on how to handle survival situations. Story rambles. Too short. Overall good spelling, but some mis-used words and stringy sentences. Example "Being a loaner just wandering from place to place slowly making my way towards some loose goals has advantages and disadvantages."
